Blessed Surprises

Chapter 3: Month 3

Casey looked around the gym. The Marines who were supposed to be there…weren’t. The door flew open, and they ran into the room…in formation no less…all of them grinning from ear to ear, wearing backpacks. She bit back a smile…they were up to something. The entire base knew about her pregnancy. There was a betting pool on when the baby would be born, what time, and what sex it would be. The latter would be determined long before the actual birth. She had placed her bets, and knew that Daniel had as well. He was betting on a girl, the 8th of May. She was betting on a boy, the 10th of May.

The Marines lined up, backs to her, dropped their packs at their feet. When they turned around, every one of them had a pillow beneath their tee shirts.

She leaned against the wall and laughed. So far she wasn’t showing, her belly was still as flat as it had ever been. "Okay, I know it’s going to be difficult, considering your ‘delicate conditions’, but we’re going to do the 'Man-Crusher' today."

The room filled with moans. This particular workout routine had earned its name. "Have a heart, Casey!" a voice called out. "I’ll drop my kid right here if you make us do that!"

She giggled. "I’ll call Doctor Williams if that happens. Okay, let’s go!" She punched play on the stereo that she had brought in, the Marines continued to groan, but tossed pillows aside and began their workout. She didn’t do the workout with them, she had already worked out today…twice. She was tired, and Doctor Williams would make her stop working in the gym if she wore herself out. She looked up just before the routine was finished, and saw Daniel sitting in the back of the room, watching her. She smiled at him, her heart fluttering when he smiled back. She ended the session a few minutes early, made her way to where he waited.

"Checking up on me?" she asked with a smile. She leaned over and kissed him.

"Yep." He reached out and caressed her belly, something that he had started doing as soon as he had learned she was pregnant. "So how are my girls today?"

"Your son and I are just fine," she replied, grinning.

He shook his head, the laid it against her. "Don’t listen to Mommy, Princess. Daddy knows what you are."

She giggled. "You’re going to feel awfully silly when your son arrives."

He grinned up at her. "Bet I won’t. Now, how about lunch?"

"Sounds great. Just let me shower."

"I’ll meet you in Sam’s lab. I just wanted to stop by and make sure you’re not overdoing it."

She rolled her eyes, then pointed toward the office. "With Teal'c here? Please!"

Daniel stood, pulled her close, and kissed her. "Glad to know he’s watching out for you, too."

"I think you’re just ganging up on me," she pouted prettily.

"Could be. But it’s cause we love you. I love you more, though," he said, his blue eyes dancing. He kissed her again. "Love you," he said softly.

"Love you, too," she whispered. She pulled away slowly. "I won’t be more that twenty minutes."

He nodded, kissed her a once more, then left.

She sighed, patted her belly. "Okay, baby. Let Mommy take a shower, and then we’ll eat. How about a nice big bowl of blue Jell-O with some olives on the side? Doesn’t that sound yummy?"

Daniel was lying in the bed, his hands behind his head when she came in. She smiled at him, then let her robe drop to the floor. She lowered one strap on her teddy, then the other, held the top against her breasts as she walked slowly toward the bed. When she was within arms reach, she let the teddy slide down to her hips. She gave it a push, and the soft, filmy material dropped to her feet. She watched his eyes darken with desire.

He reached for her, pulled her close, nuzzled against her breasts. He waited until she was lying beside him before he took a taut nipple into his mouth. He made love to her, his hands and mouth moving from one breast to the other. She held him close with one hand, the other moving over his back and shoulders. When he shifted lower, she opened her legs, the honey already flowing. He began to worship her, their eyes locked as he brought her ever closer to her climax, her hips rising to meet his mouth with every flicker of his tongue.

"My turn," she whispered, her breath coming in small gasps. When he was lying beside her she moved over him, took as much of him into her mouth as she was able. She marveled at the taste of him, the feel of him, delighted in the gasps she elicited from him as she worked her tongue over his swollen flesh.

"Now, Angel," he whispered. "In you, now."

She rolled to her back, reached for him as he positioned himself above her. She wrapped her legs around his waist, her arms around his shoulders, sighed when he slid into her body. She began to move her hips against him as he moved inside her. She felt her climax building. "I’m so close…oh, Daniel…you feel so good…oh…I’m gonna come!" she whispered.

Her breathless declarations sent shudders of excitement down his spine. He could feel her body begin to tremble, could hear the tiny whimper in her throat. "Give it to me, Angel. Come for me," he whispered in her ear.

The whimper became louder, becoming a dulcet aria of love…her thighs quivered…she pushed against him, just as she fell over the edge into oblivion. She could feel him throbbing harder and faster, clutched at him with the muscles deep inside. "Love me, Daniel, fill me with your love," she whispered once again.

He began to move faster, harder, deeper. Her words scorched his brain, fanning the flames that leapt within him. Suddenly he was there, her name on his lips, as he plummeted into completion. He rolled them over, held her close, his body still shuddering within hers. "Love you, Angel," he said softly.

"Love you, my heart," she replied. She snuggled into his embrace. She wondered how much longer she would be able to do this, dreaded the day when her belly would be too big for her to lay against him like this. She could tell he was already asleep. She smiled. She loved going to sleep in his arms, with him still inside her. It gave her such a feeling of oneness with him. Her smile widened, and then she drifted to sleep.

She was already up, in the bathroom, being sick. He tossed the covers back and padded in, knelt down and rubbed her back. She had her hair in one hand, he took it and pulled it back. She got sick again, then nodded. He took the glass on the dresser, filled it with water, and handed it to her. She rinsed her mouth, spitting into the toilet. When she was finished, he handed her a mint. The mint served to clean her mouth, and settled her stomach as well.

"Babe, this has been going on for almost two months. I want you to talk to Doctor Williams today," Daniel said, pulling her close once she had risen to her feet.

She laid her head on his shoulder. "I think I will. I’m getting tired of this. It wouldn’t be so bad if it was just in the morning-" She cringed. She hadn’t let him know that she was getting sick after lunch as well.

"What?" He pushed her away far enough that he could look down into her face. Which was very pale. "Babe, why didn’t you tell me?"

"It’s only been for the past couple of days. Probably all the olives. But they taste so good," she replied.

He couldn’t help but smile. "Okay. Let’s get ready for work. We’ll stop in and see the Doc first thing."

Doctor Williams took her blood pressure, a blood sample, listened to her heart. "Well, you’re healthy," he smiled. "I’ll be able to tell from your blood sample if you’re taking in too much salt. I want you on a diet of fresh fruit and vegetables, as much protein as you want, and as much dairy as you want."

"Doc, she’s sick every morning, and I just found out she’s getting sick after lunch now, too," Daniel said.

"You were getting sick last month as well, weren’t you?" the doctor asked.

Casey nodded.

"I’m going to give you a prescription. It won’t hurt the baby, and it will stop all the morning sickness. Take one every night before you go to bed, and if you start feeling nauseous, take one then. Okay?"

"Okay." Casey looked up at the doctor.

"You’ve got a question?" Doctor Williams asked.

"I was just wondering when we’ll be able to hear the heartbeat," she said shyly.

"I’ll set up an appointment for an ultrasound. We’ll see how the baby is doing, and hear the heartbeat. We won’t be able to tell the sex for another two months or so. Do you want to know?"

They exchanged a glance, both of them grinning. "Yes, we do," Casey replied.

Doctor Williams smiled. "All right. I’ll get it set up. I’ll send an email to let you know the date and time of the appointment." He handed them a sheet from his script pad, then looked at Daniel. "It’s important that you be there, too," he said.

"Doc, there’s no way you could stop me," Daniel replied. "This is my Wife and my baby we’re talking about here - nobody is keeping me away from anything."

"Good. Too many men don’t understand how important it is that they be a part of all of this. Not only does Casey need your support, but as you say, this is your child. You’ll regret it if you miss anything."

"Unscheduled gate activation!"

Casey jumped from the bed, and followed Daniel out the door.

When they arrived in the gate room, Lya…one of the Nox that SG-1 had met during one of their early missions…was standing on the ramp. She smiled and nodded at Daniel.

Daniel took Casey by the hand and led her to where the Nox stood. "It’s nice to see you, Lya. What brings you here?"

Lya looked pointedly from Daniel to Casey.

"Oh, forgive me. Lya, this is my Wife, Casey. Casey, this is Lya, of the Nox," Daniel said.

Lya reached out and touched Casey’s belly. She held her hand there for several long seconds, then smiled again. "We were just informed by Oma and Methos that the first Immortal child was to be born of Immortal parents. This is an occasion of great joy for all Innocents. I have come to determine that the child and mother are healthy."

Casey smiled. "We’re both fine."

"Yes," Lya smiled in return, "you are. Please notify us when your time has arrived." She turned to Daniel. "Congratulations, Daniel, on this blessed event. You have learned much, continue to learn. I am not surprised that you are 'The Chosen'." Without another word, she activated the 'gate in the way of the Nox, and disappeared into the event horizon.

Casey looked up at him. "Chosen? You’re 'The Chosen'?"

Daniel shrugged. "Don’t have a clue what it means," he said.

She could tell he was embarrassed. Whenever he was complimented, or his skills, knowledge, or training were acknowledged, he was the same. He never felt he deserved the praise. She knew that he did. "I’m not surprised either," she said softly. "You’re the most incredible man I know."

Jack was standing at the bottom of the ramp. "So, news of your pregnancy is getting around," he said, grinning at Casey. He looked over at Daniel. "What's this ‘Chosen’ stuff?"

Daniel shrugged. "Probably just that we’re chosen to be the parents of the first Immortal child," he mumbled.

"I don’t think so. Maybe you should do a little research into this, Daniel. It’s most likely something that would be good to know about before we need to deal with it," Jack replied.

The archaeologist nodded. He looked down at his Wife, saw the love, the admiration, the awe, in her eyes. When she looked at him like that, he could do anything, be anything. He put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her close. He didn’t say another word as he led her back to the infirmary to finish her check up.
