In the Arms of Love

"…In the arms of love, heaven's just a heartbeat away
I'll be your light in the dark, your shield from the storm
Your shelter from the rain
And in the arms of love I'll lift you above all the madness
All of the pain
And you'll be safe and warm here in the arms of love…"

Chapter 1

Casey stared at the newspaper ad. The sale ended today. They'd talked about doing this on Saturday. But the sale, a darn good sale, ended today. She sighed, walked into the bedroom, and stared at the still unmade bed. It would be nice to have a bigger, queen size bed. Although she had wanted to bring Daniel’s bed from the base when they moved into the house, he had convinced her to bring hers, telling her that they would replace it, and leave his on the base for those times when they remained on site. His was a nice, big, comfy queen size. They still hadn’t replaced hers. She'd decided now was the time.

They'd already discussed what they wanted. He wanted…well, he hadn’t been very specific. Actually, he hadn’t said anything. Okay, she had discussed. She was certain he'd been listening. She knew exactly what she wanted: a brass bed with large posts topped by round finials, and spindles for hanging on to. She smiled at the thought of handcuffing Daniel to the bed and having her way with him.

She sighed again, walked back to the kitchen and stared at the ad. What was the worst that could happen? She smiled again. A stop at Lover’s Package for some flavored body oil, and a few new candles, and she could make him happy again, if he were upset. She grabbed her checkbook. She hadn’t been spending much lately. Daniel insisted on paying for all of their living expenses. She slipped money into their joint account whenever she used their credit card a bit too much. But otherwise, her pay went into her account and sat there.

She pulled on her shoes. If she was going to do this, she’d better do it and get it over with. Lucky for her that Jack had told her to take the day off. Daniel had several meetings to attend today, so she'd decided to use the day to catch up on housework and laundry. And she would. Just as soon as she got back from buying a new bed.

The furniture store was just opening when she pulled into the parking lot. The salesman who was unlocking the door smiled at her, and held it open as she walked in.

"Good morning," the man said. He was in his late fifties, his neatly combed hair the same salt-and-pepper gray as his mustache. "What can I do for you today?"

Casey smiled. "I’d like to see your brass beds. I’m looking for something traditional, nice big round posts, with big finials, and at least one inch spindles. Queen size."

"I think we have just the thing," the salesman told her. "This way, please."

She followed him to a display room. There it was. Her bed. It was shiny and brass and exactly what she was looking for. The posts were nearly as high as she was tall, and at least ten inches around, the finials were large and round, the spindles an inch and a half in diameter. It was perfect. And it was on sale, thirty percent off. "Give me the mattress and box springs for thirty percent off as well, and I’ll take the bed," she said, smiling up at the man. Excitement danced in her eyes.

He looked down into those green eyes, swallowed a time or two, then smiled. "I think we could do that."

"Can you have it delivered before three p.m. today?"

"Let me check."

She followed him back to his office.

"Looks like I could have it delivered by one p.m., if you live nearby," he told her.

"We live on Baldwin Street," she said, looking over his shoulder as he wrote.

"Then we can definitely deliver by one. Do you want us to take your old bed?"

"Yes, please."

"Donation to charity?"

"That would be perfect."

"All right then. Now, what kind of mattress and box springs do you want?"

She hesitated. Now this would be where she could really get into trouble. She opted for one of the best sets available. She didn’t bat an eye when she wrote out a check for sixty-five hundred dollars. She made sure that the salesman had the correct address and her cell phone number, then she headed for the mall. A new, larger bed meant new linens. Another fifteen hundred dollars at Bed&Bath, a stop at Lover’s Package, just in case, and she was on her way home.

She washed the new sheets and blankets and comforter while she did the housework that needed to be done, hoping that Daniel wouldn’t decide to surprise her and come home for lunch. Luck was with her, he only called. She talked to him for a few minutes, her stomach tied in knots, then managed to get away when the dryer started buzzing. When the delivery van pulled into the driveway, she began to feel ill. What had she done? Daniel was going to be furious. She'd never purchased any furniture for the house without his input. After all, it was his home too.

She had to move the furniture around in the bedroom, the queen sized bed took up much more room than her little full one had. She put the chair between the two closet doors, centered the dresser on the wall opposite the bed, and moved the two large palms to either side of it. The oak bedside tables looked better against the brass bed than they had against her old wooden headboard. Once the bed was made, the room looked entirely different. It looked…elegant. She was impressed. She liked it. She could only hope that Daniel would.

A trip to the supermarket assured her that dinner would be a success. She put the steaks into the refrigerator, and cleaned and prepared all of the vegetables for the salad. She spent the rest of the afternoon doing laundry, and baking cookies. Chocolate walnut. His favorite.

At four-thirty, she called the base, and talked to Gracie. She wanted to know the minute that Daniel left parking lot. Once she explained that it was a matter of life and death, the network of SGCB’s, as it was known to the members of the 'StarGate Command Babes', swung into action. Doctor Daniel Jackson wouldn’t make a move the rest of the day that went unnoticed by the women of the Stargate program.

She was pacing the floor by five-thirty. At five-thirty-six, the phone rang. "Hello?"

"Casey, it’s Tiesha. Doctor Jackson is just pulling out of his parking space."

"Oh, girlfriend, you just saved my life!"

"We want details next Ladies Night," the SF laughed.

"You’ll get them, I promise," Casey said. "I gotta go. I have about fifteen minutes to get ready."

"Okay, girl. Go to it!"

Casey lit candles, putting several of the new, aromatic pillar candles in each room. She put two towels in the dryer to warm and fluff them, but opted to wait before turning the bed back. She wanted him to see how great it looked. But she didn’t want him to see it until he was totally relaxed. She closed the bedroom door. Bath salts were ready and waiting. Body lotion was warming in a bowl of hot water. She opened the package of rose petals she had picked up, and spread them from the back door into the bathroom. She put on the little blue teddy that was his favorite, and watched out of the window in the den. When she saw the jeep turn the corner, she took a deep breath, grabbed the towels, then went into the bathroom. She knelt down, shaking with anticipation, and just a little fear. When she heard the back door open, she lowered her head.

A  A  A  A  A  A

It had been a long day. Not a good one. Actually, a rather bad one. He was tired, and right now being at home, that little house where Casey made it safe and warm and filled it with love, was where he wanted to be. He wanted, needed to hold her. He pulled the jeep into the driveway, sat for just a minute after he shut off the engine. He wiped a hand wearily over his face.

When he opened the back door, the aroma of candles and freshly baked cookies greeted him. The floor was covered with rose petals; they led to the bathroom.

"Case?" He was standing in the bathroom doorway. "What’s going on?"

"I wait to serve thee, My Lord," she said softly.

"Uh huh. Why?" This was the way they apologized to one another. He looked at her, noted that she was trembling slightly. What could she have done that warranted this?

Casey swallowed, but didn’t answer. He was supposed to be a willing participant, eager to be served. She stood to her feet, but didn’t look up at him, and reached for his shirt to unbutton it.

Daniel grabbed her hands, held her wrists with one hand, raised her chin with the other, until she was looking into his eyes. "What’s up, Case?"

She took a deep breath. "Wouldn’t you like to have your bath now?"

He shook his head. "I want to know what you’re up to."

Great, she thought. He's had a lousy day. Otherwise he’d be in that tub right now. She heaved a sigh. Well, he had to find out sooner or later. She slipped past him and opened the bedroom door.

He stood there, just looking. "Couldn’t wait ‘til this weekend?"

"The sale ended today. I didn’t realize that until I checked the ad this morning. I got thirty percent off on the bed and the mattress set."

"And all the new…stuff?"

"It’s a different sized bed. That’s a queen, the other was full," she said simply. She avoided looking at him, sure that she would see anger blazing in his eyes.

"So how much did all of this cost?"

"A little over eight thousand, with tax," she said softly.

"What?"

"I took the money from my account," she said quickly. "I haven’t been using that much from it, and so I thought that since I was the one who wanted the new bed, and I wanted the brass one and they’re a little more expensive, and a bigger bed meant new linens, and I had to have at least three sets of sheets because I hate to have to wash the sheets every other day, and I wanted a nice comforter and pillows to match the curtains we already have, and-" she said, the words tumbling from her. She paused when he put his finger on her lips.

"You paid for all of this?" he asked softly.

She nodded. "You pay for everything else. I wanted this, and I wanted to get this…for us."

He smiled at her. "You’re something, you know that?"

"You’re not mad at me?"

Daniel shook his head. "Why should I be mad? Babe, I told you we’d get a new bed this weekend. If you got it all on sale, and it’s what you want, then it’s okay with me." He looked around the room. "It looks different in here, not just the bed."

"I had to rearrange things, because this bed is bigger," she explained.

"I like it," he replied.

She smiled up at him. "So, My Lord, are you ready for your bath?"

He grinned. "Oh, yeah."

Casey took his hand and led him back to the bathroom. She turned on the water in the tub, then began to undress him. She let her fingertips caress his body as she took his clothes off of him. She trailed kisses from his lips to his chin, to his throat down his chest, and finally knelt and took his swollen manhood into her mouth. She teased him for just a few minutes, then stood and led him to the bathtub.

Daniel closed his eyes. He let her hands work on him, easing the tension that had built up during the day.

"Rough day?" she asked softly, gently washing his chest and shoulders.

"Yeah." He didn’t elaborate, she didn’t push. "It smells like cookies out there," he said, a smile on his face.

"Chocolate walnut."

"Uh huh. What’s for dinner?"

"I picked up a couple of nice steaks, and vegetables for a salad."

He opened his eyes. "You were expecting me to be really pissed, weren’t you?"

She lowered her gaze, concentrated on washing his legs.

He put his fingers under her chin, raised her face to look at him. "Casey?"

"I figured you’d be just the other side of furious," she admitted.

"Why?"

"Because I bought a bed without you. It is a major purchase, and we bought all the other furniture together. I just figured you’d be angry."

Daniel sighed. "Angel, I couldn’t be angry at you for something like this. Especially when you used your money to buy it. Besides, we’ll have more room for…extra-curricular activities." He was grinning at her.

Casey giggled. "Not to mention something to hang on to." She finished rinsing him off. She pulled the plug, grabbed the towels and began to dry him.

He caught her up in his embrace. "Thank you for the apology. But it’s not really necessary."

"Love, you had a rough day at work. I think you deserve to be pampered a little bit. No, I think you deserve to be pampered a whole lot." She took him by the hand and led him to the bedroom. It only took her a minute to toss the throw pillows onto the chair, and turn the bed back. The body oil was warm. She crawled onto the bed, then patted it. "Come, My Heart. Let me serve you."

With a shiver of anticipation, he laid down on the bed. He sighed as her hands began to work the tight muscles of his back, his neck, his shoulders. She worked her way down his firm ass, his thighs, his calves, his feet. She moved back up and kissed his neck and shoulders, then had him roll over. She spent as much time on his chest and arms as she had on his back. When she had massaged every muscle in his body to full relaxation, she took his erection into her mouth and began to pleasure him. She loved the feel and the taste of him, her eyes closed as she savored every inch of him. It wasn’t long before he was close to his release.

"Need to taste you, Angel," he whispered. She slipped the teddy off of her body, then laid down on the bed. He kissed her mouth, her sweet lips adding heat to the flames her touch had ignited. His hands moved on her breasts, the firm curves yielding to his touch. He lowered his head and took a nipple into his mouth, suckling with pleasure, his fingers tugging at the other. He moved his mouth and hands back and forth, giving each breast his undivided attention. He sighed with contentment as he settled himself between her thighs. He licked her, kissed her, the moist flesh warm and sweet with her honey. She gasped with pleasure when he teased her hardened nub with this tongue.

"Need you in me, love," she whispered, her breath coming in gasps.

He moved up, slid into her warm well. Her body closed around him, gripped him, held him. So good, he thought, she always feels so good. She wrapped her legs around him, holding him close. He began to move slowly…in…out…in…out. Oh yeah, this is good. This is right. This was just what I need.

She wrapped her arms around his shoulders, clung to him as his body moved in hers. She moved against him, felt her orgasm building. She was breathing hard, her body arching against his, rising to meet him with every thrust. "Oooh…Daniel," she whispered, "I’m…oh...." Her body began to quiver.

"That’s it, babe," he whispered in her ear. "Give it to me, Angel."

With a cry, she hurtled over the edge into ecstasy. She pulled him closer, her body still moving against his. "Love me, Daniel, fill me with your love," she whispered.

He began to move faster, thrusting deeper and harder into her willing body. Her hands moved up and down his sides, over his chest, up to his shoulders, the gentle touch burning him to the core. He could feel the tightening in his groin, knew that he was almost there. "Take my love, babe," he whispered, just before he cried out her name. He emptied his essence into her body, then collapsed on top of her. "Love you, Angel," he said, tenderly kissing each breast before he laid his head on her, just long enough to catch his breath.

"Love you, too, my heart," she whispered, holding him close.

He slid his arm under her hips, then rolled them over. She snuggled against him as his arms pulled her closer. His hands moved slowly up and down her back. "I like the bed," he said, smiling. He could feel her smile against his shoulder.

"Good."

"Can I have my cookies now?" the tone of his voice playful. Whatever had been bothering him when he arrived home was now gone. Or at least pushed to the back of his mind.

She giggled. "Yes, you can." She raised her head, kissed him, then moved off of him. She grabbed her robe and slid it over her naked body, he grabbed his sweats and pulled them over his hips. She felt his hands on her waist as he followed her to the kitchen.

Dinner was quiet, Daniel wasn’t in much of a talking mood. Whatever had been bothering him had returned. After they had finished cleaning up, he disappeared into the den. It was nearly nine-thirty when she opened the doors, a large cup of fresh coffee in her hand.

"Thanks, babe," he said, tossing a smile at her as he sipped the coffee, before he immersed himself in his work once again.

She leaned over and kissed the top of his head, a smile on her lips. She grabbed a book and sat down in the chair adjacent to his desk, put her feet in his lap. He rubbed them absently, off and on, while he worked on whatever it was he was working on. She had stopped to watch him several times, but from where she was sitting, it was difficult to see the monitor screen. He had a frown on his face. Something was up. She didn’t know what, but there was definitely something wrong. She shrugged. When he was ready to talk about it, tell her about it, he would.
