Wish Upon a Star

Chapter 4

Daniel stretched out on the bed beside her. "Tired, Angel?"

Casey reached up and ran her finger over his lips. "Never too tired for you, My Heart."

He lowered his head and kissed her. "Your friends are really nice. I like them."

She smiled. "They like you, too." She was running her fingers up and down his chest.

"Case?"

"Hmm?"

"You just going to start the fire, or are you planning on doing something about it?"

She smiled again, let her hand drop down. She pushed his boxers aside and began to caress him. "I haven't made up my mind yet. I just might see how hot I can get it and still be able to walk away."

"Little girl, you've already passed that point," he replied, his voice strained.

"Think so?"

"Know so," he grinned. He pushed the straps of her teddy off her shoulders, his lips following his fingers. "Raise up, babe, let's get this off," he whispered.

She obeyed, waited for him to pull his boxers off and settle back beside her before lowering her head and taking him into her mouth. Goddess, how she cherished making love to him this way! She closed her eyes, her tongue working around the sensitive flesh that throbbed from each caress. No other man could compare to him; to The Chosen…her lover…her best friend. The man who completed her. She gloried in every response his body made to her attention, loved the way he gasped when she teased him, the way his hips moved ever so slightly toward her as she moved downward.

He moaned softly. "Oh, yeah, babe, just like that," he whispered. He filled his hands with her hair. After a few blissful moments, he leaned up on one arm, watched as she made love to him, the sight of her mouth and hands moving up and down over his rigid shaft making him all the harder. He watched as she teased him, his body shivering from the sensations she gave him. When she started to move over him, intent on bringing him to completion, he pulled her away. "No, babe, in you. But I have to taste you first," he whispered.

She smiled and laid back. He kissed her, trailed tiny kisses to her throat, licked his way to her breasts. She pushed her fingers through his hair, held him close, arched her back toward his hungry mouth. She loved that he gave each breast the same loving attention. Each kiss, each caress, each tug on her nipples sent the flames higher. "Oh, that feels so good," she whispered. His hands and tongue were burning her, setting her very soul on fire as he made love to her.

He teased her nipples, suckled at them, the sweet taste of her skin driving him mad with the need for more of her. He moved down, licked around her navel ring, then settled himself between her thighs. His mind sent up prayers of thanks that she was still his after all that had happenedas his body continued to demand more. She was the one, the only one. So sweet, always so damned sweet, he thought, with what little coherent capacity he had left. The way she smelled, the way she tasted drove him to the brink of insanity with ever-growing need. His tongue worked over that sweet pink flesh until she was moaning, her hips moving against his mouth. Now, his body demanded. The need to be inside her could no longer be ignored. He slid up, buried his throbbing cock between her warm folds, deep into her welcoming body. The fire was burning so hotso damned hot, and it felt incredible! "Oh, god," he moaned.

She wrapped around him, her arms pulling him close, her legs holding his hips tightly against her own. Her back arched beneath him as he filled her completely. Only him, always him, her mind rejoiced. Her body was singing praises as well, the sensations that he was giving her lifted her ever higher. Only Daniel could bring her to this place, could bring her such pleasure, such ecstasy. Here was where she always wanted to be, in his arms, body to body, feeling his love for her. She could feel her climax building, the sweet, aching need burning inside, the flames leaping around her. Her thighs began to quiver against his hips, that soft whimper filled her throat. "Oh…oh, Daniel…yes!" she whispered as he began to grind his hips against hers with every thrust he made.

"That's it, Angel…come for me," he whispered in her ear. He began to drive harder, faster into her.

She cried out, pushed her hips against his, her body shaking as she flew off the cliff and fell into the throes of pure bliss. "Now, Daniel, let me feel you throb inside me," she begged.

He moaned again, raised up on outstretched arms and rushed to obey. His body slammed against hers, thrust after thrust after thrust, while her fingers traced patterns on his chest. He cried out as sweet release washed over him in waves of pleasure. He dropped down onto her, panting, completely spent. "Love you, Angel."

"Love you, too, Sweetheart," she whispered.

He rolled them over, held her tightly. So accustomed was his body to her weight that within minutes he was relaxed and asleep.

She raised her head and kissed his chin as he began to snore softly. She snuggled against him, smiled when his arm tightened around her slender frame. She drifted into contented sleep.

Daniel had taken the day off, and was going to the lake with Casey and her friends. They had discovered some caves nearby, and were finally going to explore them. He had the baby backpack on, and Nicholas laughed happily, grabbing fistfuls of his father's hair. Emily skipped along beside him, her hand wrapped around his finger.

"They love their daddy," Gretchen said as the three women followed.

Casey adjusted her backpack and smiled. "Very much. He adores them. I was so happy to be able to finally give him the family he wanted."

"Will there be any more?" Kelley asked.

"I don't think so. I thought I was going to lose Nicholas the second month, and he was a difficult delivery. Emmie was worse, I think, but Nicholas was definitely difficult. Daniel has already told me he can't watch me go through it again. He has his son and daughter, and to be honest, to want more would be to tempt Fate. I have my god, and my children, I don't need anything else."

"Your 'god'?" Gretchen asked, her eyebrows going up.

Casey giggled. "We took a vacation, went to the Amazon. Daniel knew where this incredible valley was. It was like Eden. He called me his goddess. I told him that Adonis has nothing on him, and that he's my god," she explained.

The two Earth women exchanged smiling glances.

She was watching his ass as he walked. She sighed happily. That fine ass was hers!

"Yeah, we noticed it too," Gretchen teased.

She giggled again. "Hard not to when we're following him."

The entrance to the cave was well hidden behind shrubs and rocks. Daniel climbed carefully, lifting Emily over boulders too big for her get over. He glanced back to make sure his wife and her friends were okay, then pulled his flashlight from his belt. He turned it on and made his way slowly into the dark cavern.

Emily was clinging to his hand. "Dark, Daddy."

He smiled. "Here, Princess, take this flashlight." He handed her his small 'penlight'.

"Thank you," she said, shining the light around in circles.

"You're welcome, Princess."

Casey had her light on as well, and had taken the two extra from her pack for Gretchen and Kelley. She moved with ease through the cavern, following her husband.

"This is safe, isn't it?" Gretchen asked nervously, flashing her light around her.

"Sure," Casey replied. "I wouldn't bring my children if I didn't think so."

"Case, you'd better come take a look at this," Daniel said softly.

She hurried to where he stood. His light was steady on one spot of the wall. She gasped slightly. "Tell me that is not what I think it is!"

"Yep."

"What?" Kelley demanded to know.

"It's a glyph for a Goa'uld. One by the name of Gep," Casey replied. She shivered slightly. "I think we should tell Duncan about this. We need to get a team in here."

Daniel nodded. "Let's get back to the jeep. You take the kids home, call your mom, and get the team here. I’m going to look around some more."

Casey grabbed his arm. "Please…wait until we're all together?"

He cupped her cheek with his hand, saw the fear in her eyes. He had ignored that fear once, and had damned near ended up a slave. "Okay, Angel. I'll go to the base and get a kit or two."

She sighed, hugged him, and then turned to her friends. "I really hate to do this to you-" she started.

"Hey, you do what you have to do. We can kick around Hope for awhile," Gretchen grinned.

Kelley and Gretchen were invited to lunch with Tessa, and then agreed to spend time with Erin, filling her in on Casey's life when she had lived with them. Duncan had the team together, and Daniel had grabbed two 'dig kits' after they had geared up.

"So what are the chances of finding this just a couple of weeks after snooping around his palace?" Jack asked as they made their way to the caves.

"These markings have been in this cave for some time. I’m thinking that at one time Gamma was part of his…province…empire …whatever," Daniel said.

"Well, when construction was being done to build the town, nothing was found," Jack replied.

"The 'gate was lowered to where is it now, correct?" Daniel asked.

Jack nodded. "It was pulled out until the mountain could be hollowed out. It had been sitting inside a large cavern."

"There was probably a village nearby, at some point in time. I'll bet there were more villages, probably closer to the lake. It's possible that these caves were even used as shelter. Geb is one of the oldest Egyptian gods. Not well known, but he's been around awhile."

They entered the cavern, and immediately began to check every inch of it. Two smaller 'chambers' were located toward the back of the cave, and they too, had glyphs on the rough rock walls.

Daniel shuddered slightly.

Casey noticed the movement, and the look that haunted his eyes. 'What's wrong, My Heart?'

'Last time I was in a cavern like this, I beat you.' He couldn't remember the actual violence, only the bruises on her beautiful face. Bruises so bad that it took the Quickening several minutes to heal them.

She made her way over to him, took his hands, gently lifted both to her lips. 'Never happened. These hands have never knowingly hurt me.'

He smiled, cupped her cheeks, leaned down and kissed her gently. 'Love you, Angel.'

'Love you, Daniel.'

It was late afternoon when Casey discovered a fire pit. The entire cave was marked off in grids, and the other archaeologists from the Center were called in. Several young men from the Marine teams accompanied them, wanting to learn what to do on an archaeological dig. More lights were hauled to the cave, and a generator pulled as close as possible.

Dinner was delivery pizza, picked up by the Marines who stood guard near the foot of the hills where the caves were.

Daniel was examining the walls of the second cavern. "I don't think this cave is natural. I think somebody did the same thing we did in the mountain. They dug these rooms out."

"The people brought here by Geb, or original inhabitants?" Jack asked.

The young archaeologist shrugged. "I have no idea. I do know that the people who put these glyphs here were from Ancient Egypt, from Earth, and they knew Geb, well it seems."

Susan Whitman and Casey had dug down far enough that they were finding bones, and what appeared to be flint knives and arrowheads.

"Either these people hunted any native wildlife to extinction, or they brought animals with them, and killed them all," Casey mused.

"It's possible that if something happened to the people, if the animals were penned, they starved to death," Mike said. He knelt down beside them, carefully brushing the dirt away from a piece of bone. He held it up. "We have our first human bone," he said.

Jack, Sam and Teal'c sat back and watched as the archaeologists began to work excitedly around what was proving to be a very large fire pit.

"Is it possible that this was some sort of burial place, and not where they lived?" Casey asked.

Daniel pursed his lips. "Possible, but considering the number of stone tools we're finding, I think we're looking at some sort of communal set up."

"With all the stone tools, I'm thinking that the people who were brought here were barely out of the caves when they arrived here, if at all," Susan said.

"I agree, Susan," Daniel said. He glanced up at the other SG-1 members. "You guys don't have to stay," he said gently.

Jack grinned. "We'll hang around. Never know what you might find."

Casey had stepped outside to find a private spot to empty her screaming bladder. Less coffee, she decided, I need to drink less coffee. She had just stood up, and was zipping her jeans when she felt the prickle of being watched. She glanced around; there was enough illumination from the floodlights near the cave entrance to see well enough. She thought she saw a dark head moving among the low bushes. She stepped forward slowly. "Hey, who's out here?" she asked softly. 'Daniel, someone is out here snooping around.'

'Where babe?'

'North side, just outside of the lights.'

'Stay put. I'm on my way.'

She had every intention of following his instructions. But when the dark head darted into yet another cave, she had to pursue to keep the person in sight. She took off after him…or her. It almost appeared as if the person might be a child...

Daniel came around the bend just in time to see her disappear into another cave. 'Casey Renee, stop right where you are!' He waited for her reply. Nothing. He reached out to 'touch' her. Felt nothing. He wasn't being blocked, she was simply not there!

He ran toward the cave, using his radio to alert the others working in the cave to what was going on. He turned on his flashlight, and walked into the narrow opening. He could see dim light ahead of himhe made his way toward it. He stopped short at what he saw.

Casey was being held at knifepoint…stone knives that was, surrounded by at least two dozen black haired men. They were wearing little more than animal skin loincloths. Toward the back of the cave he could see several dozen women and children.

When she had entered the cavern, she had been shocked to find an entire group…tribe…of people around the large fire. The women had grabbed the children and backed away, and before she knew what was happening, the men had formed a circle around her, their eyes wary, their stone knives ready to cut her…kill her if necessary. Her heart was pounding against her ribs. She didn't know what was happening. All she knew was that she was scared. Terrified was a much better description, now that she took a second to think about it. She reached out to feel him…felt…nothing! She tried again, sighed when she felt his comforting presence.

"Casey?" he said softly.

She turned to look at him. "Okay, am I hallucinating, or is this really happening?"

"It's happening babe." He reached for his radio. Heard nothing but static. "I'm not sure, but I don't think we're where we were."

She nodded. "You…disappeared…for just a few seconds," she replied.

"I know, I felt it too." He continued to move slowly toward her. The men were looking from him to her and back again, obviously agitated by the strangers. "Angel, I want you to move toward me, very slowly, okay?"

"Okay." She took sideways step. One of the men gestured toward her with the knife, forcing her back to where she had been. "You might want to let them in on the plan."

"Take it easy, babe, I'll be there in a minute."

The men were watching him now. He searched his mind for the oldest dialect of Egyptian that he could remember. "We mean no harm," he said quietly. He slowly moved toward his wife.

An older man appeared from the shadows at the back of the cave. "Why have you come here?"

"I am only here to take my Wife back with me. She became…lost…and wandered here by mistake."

The old man looked at Casey. "Go to him."

"It's okay babe, come over here to me," Daniel said. He held out his hand.

She moved slowly, watching the men, and their stone knives, carefully. When she was close enough, she ran to him, threw her arms around his neck. His arms went around her protectively. He held her tightly for a moment, then eased her behind him, putting himself between the men and her.

The old man smiled. "You do not belong here."

"I understand," Daniel replied. He turned to lead her out of the cave. He stopped, and looked over at the old man. "Did Geb bring you here?"

Fear filled the faces of all of the people in the cave. "Geb is a great, vengeful god. Those who anger him are exiled," said the old man.

"What could you have done to have angered him?" Daniel asked.

The old man looked around at the faces of his family, his friends. "We lived in that place which he wanted for his palace," he said simply.

Anger flashed over Daniel's face. "He sent you here because he wanted to build a palace where your village stood?"

The old man nodded.

"Did he send food, clothing, medicines with you?"

"He had his warriors gather us, and they marched us to the Chappa'ai. It took many days to arrive at the great circle. The circle opened and the warriors pushed us through. We came here with only that which we could carry."

"He is not a god. He is a parasite, a creature that infests innocent hosts," Daniel said. "I promise, we'll avenge your deaths."

The old man nodded. "We have been told that The Chosen would come one day, and avenge us."

Daniel nodded solemnly. "I promise, Geb will pay for this."

The old man smiled. "Go, now, before the door to your world closes once again."

With a final nod, Daniel hurriedly led Casey out of the cave. They both gave a sigh of relief to see the floodlights in the distance. Jack and Teal'c were sweeping their flashlights over the area. "We're here, Jack," Daniel called out.

"Where the hell did you two disappear to?" Jack demanded.

"We just met a few interesting folks," Daniel said calmly.

The older man looked at him. "Here?"

"Not exactly. Geb sent them through the 'gate to Gamma with little more than their clothes, an entire village, because he wanted to build a palace where their homes were. He had them marched through the desert for days to get to the Chappa'ai…the Stargate. He just wanted them gone," Daniel said, his voice full of anger.

"Sounds like a Goa'uld."

"I promised them we'd avenge their deaths."

"We'll do just that, Daniel." Jack said softly.

"Let's pack up and call it a night," Daniel said. Having learned what he needed to know, he was ready to get home, take a hot shower and sleep. After he made love to his wife.
