UPDATE ARCHIVE (2)

(Feb. 2007 - Feb. 2008)

This is a list of all of the updates made during the second year of TCO's existence.  Yep, two years.  Who'd a thunk it, eh?  I'm still enjoying the journey, and I certainly hope you are as well!  As always, it's thanks to you, the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD, that TCO is enjoying the success that it is.  THANK  YOU!

January 28, 2008

Just a quick note to let you know that the newest story for Destiny's Child has been posted.  "There's A New God In Town" is ready for your perusal.  Wonder if that ha'tak will ever be the same? *grin*  I hope you enjoy the story...remember, feedback is 'soul food' for online authors!

As always, thanks to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for making TCO the success that it is!  The support is just awesome, and I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart!

January 25, 2008

Hello, hello!  What a shocker, eh?  Come in to find the entire place completely different!  (Those on the mailing list had a heads up...*grin*)  This is the project that I've been working on.  It started back in October.  I found a great wallpaper that I wanted to use.  Alas, it was too difficult to read the text on, no matter what font size/type/color I used.  Bummer.  But I determined to find one that would work.  Well, discussions ensued between Renée, Lisa and I, and the next thing we knew, we had a major makeover on our hands!  The plan had been to do this for TCO's 2nd Anniversary, which is Feb. 22.  We were just so excited we couldn't wait.  I hope you will take the time to peruse each 'corner'...you'll find that they are as individual as we are...and of course, the great fan fiction you've come to expect from TCO is still just as easy to find!  The one thing that has remained the same, and again, this came after hours of discussion and experimentation, are the story pages.  The background and font are the easiest to read, and don't cause as much eye strain as some of the backgrounds we tried.

One thing I want to point out...this site is best viewed with Firefox.  It's a great browser, and I encourage you to try it if you haven't already.  And, as always, there are plenty of well marked links to help you find your way around.  Yak gets the credit for doing the incredible job on the 'glyph buttons' that we used.  Thanks Yak!!

Oh...one other thing...the next story for DC will be up soon, probably in the next day or so!

As always, my deepest, heartfelt thanks to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for all of the support and encouragement!

January 21, 2008

Howdy!  I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything, and I do apologize.  Sometimes RW can just be a pain south of the belt-line...*grin*  I am working on the next story for Destiny's Child, and hope to have it posted in the next few days or so.  There is another project I'm working on as well, more about that very soon.

The biggest news of the moment is that the Stargate Fan Awards have opened for voting.  That's right, you can go in, read a wonderful selection of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis fan fiction, and vote for your favorites!  It's a smorgasbord of literary delights, my friends...I hope you'll go over and just stuff yourselves!

As always, thanks for the support you have given me and TCO.  You're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!

December 31, 2007

Happy New Year!

I would like to wish each and every one of you a blessed New Year.  May all of your dreams come true, may your path be crossed by many friends, and may your days be filled with sunshine from your heart, and the hearts of others.

Your continued support of TCO totally blows me away, and I appreciate it more than you could ever know!  You are the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD, and I'm blessed to have each and every one of you in my life...THANK YOU!

(Lisa has a new story up..."Karma" is ready for your reading enjoyment.  Rather fitting title, for this time of year, don't you agree?  I know you're going to love it as much as I did!)

December 18, 2007

Just a quick note to wish all of the wonderful folks who come here to read a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, a Blessed Winter Celebration, Happy Kwanza, or whatever you happen to celebrate.  I hope each of you find peace this Holiday Season, and may your New Year be blessed.  As always, a great big THANK YOU to all of you who have been so supportive of TCO, Renée, Lisa and I.  You're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!  (Be sure to take a look at the Link page...there are a couple of new places to check out!)

December 6, 2007

Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I had updated!  RW has been keeping me busy, busy, busy!  I might even have time to get the Christmas tree up next week! *grin*  But in the meantime, I have important news to share with you...the newest story for Destiny's Child has been posted.  "Daddy's Little Girl" is the second story of "The New Order", and we finally get to meet Zeus.  Oh, what a looker he is!  And the attitude...100% Goa'uld, my friends.  However, he is not the main focus of the story, and you know me, I'm not going to tell you any more than I already have...teehee.  You'll just have to read it to find out just what the story is about.  I hope you enjoy it.  And, um...when you get toward the end of chapter eight, it might be a wise idea to make certain your mouth is empty.  Jack is at his very best...on a roll and making Daniel crazy.

As always, I want to thank you, the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for making this simple fan fiction site such a success.  Your continued support totally blows me away...THANK YOU!

November 19, 2007

Howdy!  At long last, the newest story for the Destiny's Child series is ready, and waiting for you!  "The Colonel's New Toys" has been uploaded.  I hope you enjoy the story, and remember, feedback is 'soul food' for online authors!

I want to take this opportunity to wish all of my American readers a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving.  Count each blessing, and you'll be surprised at how much you really have!  I hope each of you are able to spend the day with friends and family.  For those of you who are unable to do so, remember that good thoughts are going out for each of you.

As always, I want to thank the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for all of your encouragement and support.  Without you, there would be no need for this site!  Thank you from the bottom of my very grateful heart!

October 27, 2007

Just a quick note to let you know that work on the next story for Destiny's Child is coming along.  Not as quickly as I had hoped, once again RW has been less than cooperative.  Being ill for over a week didn't help either!  But I am making progress, and I'll be getting it up as soon as possible.

I would also like to thank the wonderful readers who take the time to vote for TCO everyday.  You folks are the greatest, and due to your dedication, TCO has reached the #1 spot on the Stargate Information Archive Toplist.  Now, I don't expect to stay there, and that's okay.  I'm quite content to sit at #2 or #3.  But it is pretty cool to see the banner in that top spot!  *grin*  That it's happened at all is thanks to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!

Your support for this site, and for me, is a blessing and a joy.  Thank you, from the bottom of my very grateful heart!

October 18, 2007

It's that time of year, folks.  In the Great Northwest, autumn and winter mean wind storms.  First one of the season blew through today, and yes, the power did go down on the south end of the island.  (Check the current Admin notes for the report...*snicker*)  The site is up and running, so you're free to browse and read at your leisure.  If at any time the site does go down, just continue trying, it usually doesn't take more than a few minutes to switch over from main power to the generator.  Thanks for all of your wonderful support, it means the world to me!

October 14, 2007

Yep, typical for me...I don't update for weeks, and then I'm updating every other day!  But this is a very important announcement.  One of my readers, a wonderful lady by the name of Shirley Pauli, made a beautiful wallpaper for me.  It was so amazing that I knew I had to find a place for it.  Not just anywhere would do.  I found the perfect spot.  It now graces the introduction page to "When Two Hearts Collide".  I've changed that page a bit, to reflect how special a love story it really is.  I do hope you'll take a moment to check it out.  THANK YOU, SHIRLEY!

October 12, 2007

Just wanted to say hello!  Okay, yes, there is another reason for this update.  There's a new icon under the Vote For This Site section, and I just wanted to point it out.  The text beneath the icons for Worldwide Topsites is also a link, they just don't have a banner.  Also, for some reason (admin reports it's most likely the result of sloppy code, a problem we've had before) there isn't a banner for TCO on the Worldwide Topsites.  However, thanks to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD, we're doing quite well there.  The TCO banner is bold and beautiful on the new Top 100 Original Sci-fi site.  As always, your support means the world to me!

SFA news:  The Stargate Fan Awards team is working like crazy to get through the nominations for 1200 nominees.  Yep, at 10 entries allowed per nominee, that is a lot of fan fiction and fan art to go through!  I thoroughly appreciate the fact that the SFA team is doing their best to make certain that everyone who wishes to participate in the contest will be able to do so.  Their efforts are proof that the SFA's have indeed become the "Oscars" of the Stargate fandom awards.

Story update:  Well, since my family has decided that sharing their germs with me is a great idea, I have been a bit under the weather for the past few days.  Haven't written much, but never fear, the Muse is quietly whispering in my ear, the characters are adding their ideas, and the next story will be forth coming.  I promise!

I do believe that's all for this time!

October 3, 2007

Greetings and Salutations!  After a few days of thinking I'd never get a chance to finish this story, it's done!  Yep, that's right!  "Parallel-o-gram" is now ready for your perusal.  If you'll notice, I've linked it here in the announcement.  Never thought about doing that before, but once the idea crossed my mind, I thought it sounded reasonable.  There is a bit of an 'explanation' about the title on the intro page, if you're at all interested.  I hope you enjoy the story, and if so, I'd love to hear from you!  (If you don't like it, I'd love to hear from you too!!)

For those who might be 'newcomers', and there are a few of you, if you're interested in weekly updates, please sign up for the mailing list.  Mailing list 'members' get a few hints about the stories I'm working on, as well as twenty-four hour notice (sometimes more than that!...*grin*) of when a story will be posted.

Also, for the 'newcomers', there are icons on the homepage that will allow you to vote for The Chosen One on various top list sites.  I'd certainly appreciate the support!

As always, I want to thank the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for all of your continued support, and the encouragement you send my way!  Those emails certainly DO cheer me up, especially when I'm having one of my "creative moods", and feeling a bit low.  THANK YOU!!

I think that does it for now.  Enjoy the journey!

September 14, 2007

Just a little note to let you all know that Renée's newest story is online.  "Popcorn Doesn't Lie" is her latest fantastic tale.  Lisa also has an update available.

September 1, 2007

Strike up the band!  "Desperate Acts" is now available for your perusal!  I hope you enjoy it, and find it as amusing in places as I did.  There is a bit of a 'special treat' for the ladies in this story.  The entire love scene was inspired by an incredible manip done by Saladscream, and she was generous enough to let me use it.  THANK YOU, Saladscream!  There is a link on the intro page to her other work.  Warning: it is a slash site, so you will find a lot of Jack/Daniel manips there.  However, there are a number of wonderful manips of Daniel alone (and Jack as well).

SFA update...September 3rd is the last day for author's/artists to place their nominated works in the appropriate categories.  Thanks to all of you who nominated stories for both Renee and I!

As always, I want to thank the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for your support.  Having you to share my stories with is just the 'icing on the cake'.  THANK YOU!

August 29, 2007

This is the last 'weekly' update that will be posted...mostly because it's just filling up the page too quickly.  When a story is posted, the announcement will be here, of course.  As will anything 'important' in regard to the stories or the site.  Weekly updates will go out to those on the mailing list, keeping those folks apprised of what's going on, as they're the ones who have shown the most interest.

As always, THANK YOU to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!

August 22, 2007

I've been working on the next story for Destiny's Child, and while I am making progress, I'm afraid it won't be finished this week.  Don't blame me, blame the Muse.  She's the one who sent me off doing research...and we all know how that goes!  I do have every intention of having the story ready and posted by the end of the month.

SFA update...received my nomination notification letter...HOORAY!  It seems that the SPAM filters on most of the email accounts were tossing the letters back to the Awards Team almost as fast as they went out.  And the Team was also limited on how many letters they were allowed to send out each day from their server.  It's always something, right?  Now, considering that there were hundreds of these letters that went out...let's just say that those folks are determined!  I want to thank those of you who took the time to register and nominate both my and Renee's stories.

As always, THANK YOU to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!  Your continued interest in the stories, and the support you show the site, give me serious warm fuzzies.  Really.  I could turn into a Disney movie here at any moment! *grin*  Thank you!

August 15, 2007

Greetings and Salutations!  I hope your week is going well!  The Muse is being especially good to me this week, so the next story in the Destiny's Child Series just might be ready by the end of next week.  Here's hoping!  So far RW is cooperating, and allowing me ample time to work.  That's always nice!

SFA update...notifications were sent out to the nominees. However, not everyone received theirs, as the SFA team reported many of the letters 'bounced back'.  Renee and I seem to be in that number.  So...still waiting.  As the authors/artists have been given until Aug. 27th to place their work in the appropriate categories, it would be nice to GET the notification!  *sigh*

And, as always, I will not say 'until next week' without thanking you, the faithful readers who have made my little site as popular as it is. THANK YOU!  You're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!

August 10, 2007

For those of you who noticed...yep, I forgot to post this on Wednesday.  I apologize for that.  I'm still working on a plausible excuse, and I will tender it as soon as I have it 'polished'...*grin*  I have started work on the next Destiny's Child story.  This one should prove to be...interesting.

SFA update...no word yet.

As always, THANK YOU so very much to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!  Without you, TCO wouldn't exist!

August 5, 2007

Here it is, folks, the latest installment of the Destiny's Child series.  "Strange Bedfellows" is uploaded and ready for your perusal.  In spite of the efforts of RW (and the death of a piece of equipment owned and operated by the internet company from whom I get my service! [which made researching certain key points impossible!]) I was able to get it finished.  A great big thanks to Renée for doing such a great (and quick) beta for me...especially when she's in the middle of working on her own story!

Um...word from the SFA's is that the authors/artists will be notified by August 11.  Bets anyone? *grin*

And of course, I would be remiss if I didn't say Thank You to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for your continued, constant support.  You're awesome, and I so appreciate the fact that you take the time to read my work.  A very special thank you to those of you who contact me, and those who take the time to vote every day for TCO.  That means the world to me...THANK YOU!!!!!!

August 1, 2007

Hello, there!  Hope your week has been a good one so far!  Weather has been nice, eh?  Yep, nice weather.  What's that?  The story?  Oh, that.  "Strange Bedfellows" is honestly coming along well, when I can actually sit down and write!  See, it's like this, RW just insists on interfering...and some of the research I've been doing has resulted in the changing of a few things...which means going back and changing a few other things (two full scene rewrites so far!).  It also seems to be setting things up for the next story.  I know, forget the next one, just get this one finished, right?  I'm still hoping to have it finished sometime Thursday, but I'm not going to make any promises.  If it is, then it will be posted on Sunday.  (Have to have my Bricen time on Saturday...haven't seen my baby for a month! *gasp*)  As always, mailing list members will have the date and time that it will be uploaded when it's ready.

Still no word on the SFA's.

And once again I want to thank you, the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for your continued support.  Don't forget to drop a vote for the site!

See ya next week!

July 25, 2007

Ah, another week has passed.  How time flies!  RW has interfered with the writing process just a bit, so I haven't written as much as I would have liked.  However, be that as it may, when I have been able to work on the story, it is going very well.  Once again the Muse has taken an unexpected turn, but I'm just the fingers for the keyboard, so I'll continue to follow Her lead!  The way things are looking right now, the story should be ready to post sometime next week.  Certainly by next weekend.

As for the SFA's...still waiting to hear about the nominations.  The awards team had 4850 nominations to wade through (I don't know if that's the number before or after all of the 'duplicates' were removed).  Once the author's/artists are notified, it shouldn't be long until voting opens.  Stay tuned for further word on that...

Once again I will take this opportunity to say THANK YOU to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!  Often a simple 'thank-you' doesn't seem like enough, but I'm afraid that it's all I have to offer.  I hope that you accept it, and understand that your support totally blows me away!  To know that there are those of you who enjoy my work, and are 'regular' readers is mind-boggling!  THANK YOU!!!!

See ya next week!

July, 18 2007

Well, not much to tell you today.  Working on the next story for Destiny's Child.  I think this one is going to be...maybe 'fun' isn't the right word, but definitely interesting!  We'll be meeting a new Goa'uld...and this is one of those times when I'm 'tweaking' canon just a bit.  This Goa'uld was introduced in the series in season 8.  But we never had a chance to see/get to know him.  That just begs to be addressed, don't you think? *grin*  So our stalwart team will meet this bad guy...and of course, in typical SG-1 tradition, much chaos ensues.  Or at least a bit of confusion.  The research part of the story has been interesting.  And yes, I did get sidetracked once or twice...teehee.

There was also a bit of confusion on the Stargate Information Archive Top 50 list site, but that seems to be taken care of now.  The result, thanks to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!! is that for the moment, TCO is ranked at #1.  How cool is that?  I know it won't last, and to be honest, I was happy at #3...comfortable spot, don't you agree?  Thank you to everyone who continued to vote, even and especially when it seemed that the stats were rolling over and zeroing out the votes every hour!  To you I send out a very special THANK YOU!  Serious warm fuzzies here, folks, knowing that there are those of you out there who think enough of the stories to vote for the site daily!  I appreciate that support more than you'll ever know!

(Hmm...long update for not much to say, eh?)

'See  you' next week!

July 14, 2007

I haven't been this excited since Renée joined the site, bringing the Daniel Jackson from her universe, along with SG-1 and the indomitable Annika Murdoch!  Now, I know that all of you are aware of my opinion of the final two seasons of Stargate SG-1.  I think they totally screwed the pooch on the way they brought in Col. Cam Mitchell.  I think Vala should have been nothing more than an occasional nemesis brought in a few times to annoy Daniel.  I've often thought that if the writers hadn't tried to shove Cam Mitchell down our throat (and totally made us sick of Vala!) the show wouldn't have lost the majority of 'original' Gater fans.  Now, I have never thought that Cam Mitchell was anything other than an interesting, funny, and darned cute character.  Grudgingly, perhaps, but I do admit that.  Well, Gentle Readers, for those of you who would like to read GOOD Cam Mitchell fan fiction, look no farther!  I am absolutely thrilled to announce that Lisa D. has written an incredible story, and she has done what the writers of SG-1 seemed incapable of doing...she brought Cam Mitchell to the SGC the way it should have been done!!  Lisa, like Renée, has her own corner, where her wonderful stories will be available.  You're in for a treat, my friends!  So sit back, and enjoy the journey!

(All further updates for Lisa's stories will appear on her update page.)

July 13, 2007

Howdy!  "Know Thyself", the next installment of the Destiny's Child series is now up and ready for your perusal.  As always, I love to hear from you about the stories.  And, as always, thanks for the support you offer me, and this site...it is sooooooooooo appreciated!  You're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!

July, 11, 2007

Weekly update:  Ah, how time flies when we're having fun.  Or don't know what we're doing...or just because!  I'm working on the next story installment for the DC series...and it's going well.  With luck, I should be announcing an upload in the next day or so.  If any of you are wondering, and as I have received a couple of emails regarding this...no, I don't have any plans for a TCO story any time soon.  That could change before I even have this posted, but right now, the Muse seems focused on the Destiny's Child universe, and I'm fine with that.  I'm sure there are many more stories to tell for the Daniel and Casey and gang of The Chosen One.  For now, we'll remain with the Daniel and Casey and the gang of Destiny's Child...things are hoppin' there! *grin*  And, as always, let me take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for all of your support, for voting for TCO daily, for letting me know that you're enjoying the journey!  You're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!

July 4th, 2007

A very happy 4th of July to my American friends and readers! I hope the holiday is a safe and joyful one for you, and that you take the time to remember, and remind those around you, of what the day represents.

For those of you not already in the know (as those on the mailing list are...them's the perks, baby!), this is the first weekly update, just to keep you, the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD, up-to-date on what's happening in the TCO/DC world.

I'm working on the next story for Destiny's Child, and once the Muse and I broke through our little communication problem (translation: she finally gave me a clue as to what we were doing!) things have been going well. Of course this week has been hectic, so actual work on the story has been limited. I'm hoping to spend the day Friday doing nothing more than writing. I'll let you know next week how that goes...*grin*

As always, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the support you've given me and this site. Thanks for the kind words, the emails that make me laugh, and for taking the time to vote for TCO. I appreciate it more than words can express.

(Yeah, I know, here in the US this is a bit early.  Won't have time to post it tomorrow...Here's wishing you a great 4th of July!)

June 22, 2007

First of all, I want to say thanks to all of the readers who continue to journey with Daniel, Casey and the rest of SG-1.  Your support means so very much to me!  I appreciate all of those votes as well...keep up the good work!  You're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!

Secondly, I'd like to point out that the first year of updates has been moved to an archive page.  Just in case you want to 'relive' that first year...*grin*  This page was getting just toooooo long, and I couldn't bring myself to just delete the entries, I can read them and remember what I was doing, remember the frustration, remember the 'aha' moments when things suddenly made sense.  So, I've created an archive to house those update entries.

Third, I'd like to take a chance to say a little something about the end of an era, the end of the Stargate SG-1 era, at least as far as the television show is concerned.  I thought about putting it in my blog, but decided that this was a much better place for it.  So, here are my thoughts on the end of SG-1:

Tonight is the last episode of the series, Stargate SG-1. For many Gaters, of which I proudly count myself, the show stopped being that at the end of Season 8. For two years we were subjected to what became the "Cam Mitchell Show, featuring that annoying Vala, with occasional and suddenly inept 'back up singers' Daniel, Sam and Teal'c". We won't even go into the whole Ori storyline, which fell flat with the fans from the minute it was introduced, and only went downhill from there. (Why do you think they brought back Ba'al?)

In a way, it's a sad thing...mostly because I hate seeing a show I love so much ending. But I've had two years to say goodbye. And now, I can sigh, and say "Thank god, that's over!"

The writers took a horribly wrong turn, and the show never recovered. The fans could see it. Even the actors admit that the story line never found favor with the 'original' fans, those who discovered the movie in 1994 and were hooked. The fans who watched eagerly every week, starting in July of 1997. The show lost a bit of it's 'edge' when it moved from HBO to prime time on Sci-fi...but remained just as strong, as entertaining, as it had always been.

The fans proved just how much they loved the show, and the characters, when the writers killed Dr. Daniel Jackson. TPTB brought him back when the outcry was too loud to ignore. Unfortunately, they chose to ignore the same fans when they decided to kill off Dr. Janet Fraiser. I suppose the fact that she was considered a 'minor' character led to the decision to leave her off of the show.

Fans world wide suffered a WTF? moment during the first episode of Season 9...many of us worried that somehow, we had missed something. End of season 8, SG-1 was happily together, with Gen. Jack O'Neill in charge of the SGC. Beginning of season 9...WTF?

By the end of the third episode of season 9, forums were alive with debate. And the consensus among the Gaters? Lots of disappointment. Which continued to mount as we were dragged further into the season. What TPTB really don't want to discuss is the fact that the reason the ratings were dropping was because the fans had given up hope of the show returning to it's 'roots'. Of being what it had been. New characters were brought in with no introduction, no explanation. "Original" characters were suddenly behaving as if they hadn't been going through the 'gate for eight seasons. Further disappointment. The new 'bad guys'...well, while the writers may have wanted to be 'current', too many ppl didn't want to see the same thing in their entertainment that they watched on the nightly news. Especially those of us who loved Stargate. By the end of season 9, very few "original" fans were even bothering to turn on the television on Friday night.

There was an outcry when the show was canceled. But not a loud cry. More of a whimper. The numbers that had rallied to save Dr. Jackson weren't as interested in saving a show that had stopped being Stargate SG-1. Too many fans had already mourned, and said farewell to their beloved show. Why continue the disappointment, when it was clear that the writers, the producers, and the suits had no intention of listening to what the fans were saying? (To that end, for a year and a half the writers stopped going to the conventions. I have a friend who works those conventions as a volunteer...apparently the writers were just bombarded with questions they didn't want to answer.)

So ends a decade of what was one of the greatest sci-fi shows on television anywhere. It might never had won critical acclaim, but then, what do critics know? Time and again the fans prove that what the critics like has little to do with what's actually 'good'.

So, long, SG-1. I've missed you for two years. I will continue to miss you. Thank goodness for DVD's...and fan fiction!

June 19, 2007

Just a  little 'update' to answer a couple of questions that were sent my way...I have no idea why some of you are having difficulty voting for TCO on Simi's Sci-fi top list.  I voted this morning and didn't have a problem, but apparently this afternoon a few of you were unable to connect.  I can only suggest trying again.  Hopefully whatever the problem is will be addressed soon.  And I want to take this opportunity to thank the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for taking the time to vote daily for TCO...your support means the world to me...THANK YOU!!!!

June 15, 2007

Greetings and Salutations! Yep, it's finished, it's up, and it's ready for your perusal. "Seek and Ye Shall Find" has been uploaded, the latest 'installment' in the Destiny's Child saga. As always, I love feedback, it's 'soul' food for the online author. Also, you might have noticed that the 'broken' link to the Sourcegate Top list site has been removed. (That thing was driving me nuts!) I did a bit of serious thinking before deciding to let that list fall to the wayside...the site isn't receiving hits from it, and only a couple of ppl were actually voting there. (Which opens a segue to thank each and every one of you who are voting for TCO every day, keeping it 'visible', and letting others out there know that you enjoy the site...THANK YOU!!!!) With only three other sites listed on the Sourcegate list, and the only activity on the list being that of the few who voted for TCO...well, it's sort of like being in a competition alone. It doesn't mean a thing, right? Now, the main Sourcegate site is still linked, and please check it out, Tucker has done a great job in bringing together Stargate news and information. So, to the TCO 'voters', there are only three list 'buttons' that you'll be clicking...and again, THANK YOU!!! You're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!!

Just a little update on what's going on...work for the next installment of Destiny's Child, a story titled "Seek and Ye Shall Find", is nearing completion.  Yep, that's right.  With luck, it will be posted next weekend...if not before.  As always, readers on the mailing list will know in advance the time/day the upload will take place.  And, as always, I want to thank the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for your continued support!  Thanks for all the votes that are keeping The Chosen One visible on the top list sites...you have no idea what that means to me!  Serious case of warm fuzzies...seriously!  You're just the best!  THANK YOU!

May 31st, 2007

As promised, "Dream a Little Dream" is ready for your perusal.  This is the fifth of five stories that took Daniel, Casey and SG-1 through some rough times.  I promise the next story won't be so intense!  For those who might have missed the site yesterday, it was indeed offline for a few hours, as the Admin had to replace the fans on the system.  All is well and good, and barring some gremlin with a death wish, everything should stay that way!  I want to thank each of you for all of your support.  I'm totally awed...humbled...and honored.  You're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!!!  (Oh, and just a little note...Admin has put up a new note...Enjoy! *grin*)

May 29, 2007

Just a quick note to let you all know that although the site was down for a few hours today, all is well.  Nothing broken.  At this point in time the Admin believes it was a case of the physical box overheating.  (Okay, I have some idea what that means! LOL!)  And..."Dream a Little Dream" should be up and running later this week.  As always, mailing list members will have the exact day/time it will be uploaded.  I think it ties up this particular story arc quite nicely! *grin*  And, as always, thanks for all of your support...you're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!

May 22, 2007

Judging from the email I've received, a few of you are rather anxious to know what happened after "Hell Hath No Fury".  Well, wonder no longer!  "Needle In a Haystack" is up and ready for your perusal.  I promise, this doesn't have as much of a cliff-hanger...really!  This is story four in the five story arc dealing with Ba'al and 'The Shadow', and I'm hoping that you'll enjoy it as much as you tell me you've enjoyed the others!  Again, let me say that I appreciate all the kind words and support you give...you're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD! (Edited to add:  Found a whopper of a mistake in Chapter 3...if you've read that chapter, you can get the true 'gist' of the conversation between Casey and Dartal now! *grins sheepishly)

May 17, 2007

Just a quick note to let you know that, no, TCO hasn't been suspended from the International Stargate topsites list; the list site itself has been suspended from the server, it seems, and no, I have no details on the matter.  So for those of you who have offered...thank you so very much, but it won't be necessary to send emails in defense of TCO...I do want to let you know that I thoroughly appreciate your concern!  You're the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!  (And just a gentle reminder to drop a vote for TCO on the other lists...THANKS!)

May 15, 2007

Yes...I have good news.  Well, I think it's good news.  "Hell Hath No Fury" is now ready for your perusal.  And just so you know, it was NOT my idea...it was the Muse!  To ease the 'shock' (oooo...spoiler, eh? *grin*), the next story in this 'story line' has already been started.  And I promise that this particular story line WILL be wrapped up in two more stories. (That includes the one I'm working on now.)  As always, I would love to hear from you, feedback is 'soul food' for the online author.  And, as always, 'thank you' to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for all of your continued support!

May 8, 2007

Hiya!  Just wanted to let you all know that I did a little bit of playing around with the story list pages for both The Chosen One and Destiny's Child.  Not a lot changed, but I wanted to change a few things, which, of course, led to a 'bigger' project.  I'm still learning about all of this stuff, so what would take most people a few minutes, takes me an hour or two.  But I'm happy with the results, and a couple of new images were added to TCO.  Now, everything should still be working properly, but if you stumble across a broken link, please let me know!  And for those of you who are interested, yep, the next story in the DC storyline is moving right along.  I should have something ready in a week or so.  *grin*  As always, thank you to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for all of your continued support!

May 6, 2007

Greetings and Salutations!  Some of you might have noticed the new graphic on the home page (which was done by one of my readers and dear friend, Lisa.  Thanks, Lisa!).  Yesterday, TCO hit 100,000 pageviews.  Not too shabby for a simple little fan fiction site, fourteen months into existence, eh?  The success of this site has been a partnership...I write the stories, and you, my dear Gentle Readers, come in and read them.  I have always admitted that even if I didn't have this site, I would be writing, to keep my head from exploding.  The icing on the cake, what keeps me striving to do better, is YOU!  Thank you for all of your continued support...it means the world to me!  That this site is a success is because of YOU, the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!  I received an email today, asking me when Renee would have a new story up.  Well, it just so happens that she'll have a new one out this weekend.  As I told the author of the email, those on the mailing list are given notification about 24 hours prior to the uploads, sometimes a bit longer...sometimes an hour or three less.  But they know exactly when I will do any and all uploads.  As well as other little 'tidbits' of information.  So, if you'd like to have a 'heads up' on when my, or Renee's, newest stories will be posted, sign up for the mailing list.  There's a handy-dandy little link just above...where it says "If you're interested in being on my mailing list...click here".  Thanks!

May 1st, 2007

Happy May Day!  And for those who celebrate it, an early and happy Cinco de Mayo!  And on this happy note, I am pleased to announce that "Hell to Pay" is now posted and ready for your consumption...er...perusal...er...enjoyment.  *grin*  This is the second in a group of stories that are closely tied together.  I hope to have the next one ready by the end of the month...if RW cooperates!  I also want to thank those of you who took the time to nominate any of my stories, and those of Renee, for the Isis awards.  I don't for a minute believe the excuse that they couldn't 'find' the pages, and that all they got were "404 errors", and didn't have time to contact either Renee or myself.  Seeing as how no one else has had any problems with the site, I will chalk this up to ineptitude, and move on.  I want to thank each of you, the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD, for your continued support...you have no idea what that means to me!  And as always, I love to hear from you...feedback is the online author's soul food!

April 20, 2007

I just wanted to let you all know that things are going great here, and I've actually managed to do a bit of writing.  I also want to thank the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for the continuing support you show the site with your visits to read and re-read your favorite Chosen One or Destiny's Child stories...and for taking the time to vote for the site every day.  I'm totally awed by that incredible support...THANK YOU!

April, 12, 2007

Just a quick note to let you all know that the Isis Awards is now open for voting!  And only a few days late, so that's a good thing.  For any of you interested, (and you know who you are...*grin*), work on the next story for Destiny's Child is going well.  I won't be able to work on it often for the next two weeks, but have high hopes that I'll be able to post it the first weekend in May.  Yep, company arrives tomorrow!  Updates will probably be sporadic as well...for those of  you who read my LJ, I'll try to get something there to let you know what's going on.  Anyway, I wish the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD a great spring weekend!

April 10, 2007

It's that time of year again!  Time to surf the web and find all of your favorite Stargate stories and authors!  The Stargate Fan Awards is open for nominations.   There is a link on the main page that will take you directly to the 2007 Stargate Fan Awards Site.   This year, I think the SFA team has outdone themselves...the site looks better than ever.  Please read and follow all rules carefully!  (For those of you who are interested, the next story for the DC storyline is underway! *grin*)

April 7, 2007

To those of my readers who celebrate this spring holiday, Happy Easter!  And for your reading enjoyment, "Aloha Pa'ing" is now available.  I hope you enjoy the story, and if so, please let me know, your feedback is my 'soulfood'!  Also, just a reminder that voting for the Isis Awards is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 9th, so don't forget to vote for your fave authors and their stories!  Thanks again to the GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD for all of your continued support!

April 3, 2007

I know, I don't post for days, and then I'm just inundating you with updates.  The Chosen One, sans banner for the moment, is back on the Stargate Information Archive top list.  Whatever glitch or problem there was has been addressed, and a big thanks to Arcady for checking into the situation.  I'll try to get the banner back up as soon as I can...I figure it's not that big of a deal at the moment.  Thanks again to each and every one of you who vote for TCO daily...it gives me a serious case of warm fuzzies to know that there are those who like the site enough to let others know!  THANK YOU!  YOU'RE THE GREATEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!!  (Oh, yeah...Aloha Pa'ing is coming along quite nicely...and so far it looks as if it will be uploaded on Saturday...*grin*)

April 2, 2007

I just wanted to let all of you who take the time to vote for The Chosen One on the Stargate Information Archive site, you will be unable to do so for the immediate future.  For how long, I don't know.  I was 'dropped' from the site today after emailing the webmaster to find out just why my stats were suddenly dropping...as in disappearing.  (The site went from seven unique hits (votes) to two, and the average went from seven to two point seven five, and this happened within about three hours this afternoon...the stats were changed at some point after three p.m. PST.  All of the reviews were still there, however! *grin*)  Now, I do get hits from that site.  But if this is the way it will be...no big deal.  I so appreciate each and every one of you who take the time to vote for TCO each day, you'll never know how much that means to me!  For the time being, all we can do is wait and see what happens.  Thanks for being the BEST READERS IN THE WORLD!

April 1, 2007

Hiya!  Well, Renee is on her way back to Australia (*sniff* *sniff*), and I'm working on the next story for Destiny's Child, called "Aloha Pa'ing".  It will be ready to post by Saturday at the latest.  If you're interested in 'details' about Renee's visit, and pictures of the icing sculptures she made, check out my LJ, and the LJ Gallery!  As always, thank you so very much to the BEST READERS IN THE WORLD for all of your support!!

March 24, 2007

Hello there!  Just wanted to let you all know that I am working on the next story for Destiny's Child, and it's coming along nicely.  When I've been able to write, that is!  On Monday, the 26th, I'll be picking up my best friend Renee and she'll be spending a week with me.  No doubt there will be some writing going on!  With luck I'll have the story posted by April 7th.  Once again I want to thank all of you so very much for all of your friendship and support...you're the BEST READERS IN THE WORLD!!

March, 14, 2007

Greetings and Salutations!  I am delighted to inform you that "Devil's Brigade" is posted and ready for your reading enjoyment!  This is the first of several stories that are closely tied to one another.  The series within the series, so to speak.  I hope to continue posting at least one story a month, however, I'm going to be having out of town company for several weeks during the latter part of this month and in April, so I don't know how much writing I'll actually be able to accomplish.  Never fear, however, I won't leave you hanging for long...*wicked grin*  (You KNOW how much I love those 'cliff hangers'!)  I'd also like to remind you that the Isis Awards are accepting nominations, and there are a lot of good secondary ship stories that deserve recognition.  So drop a nomination for your favorite author/story, whoever he or she might be!  As always, thanks to the greatest readers in the world for all of your support.  Special thanks to those of you who take the time to vote for The Chosen One.  And remember, feedback is 'soul food' for on-line authors!  (Little add-on here...I've added a 'Tell-a-Friend' feature, located just below the Guest Book icon...if you enjoy the stories...tell a friend! *grin*)

March 11, 2007

Hiya, everyone!  It has come to my attention that there are those of you who would like to leave messages for Renee.  You may do so in the Guest Book that is available on the home page of this site.  I know that she'd love to hear from you, so leave a review there and let her know how much you enjoy her incredible stories!  (Quick side note..."Devil's Brigade is almost finished, in fact, I should be writing 'the end' sometime today.  Which means that with luck, I'll be posting it sometime this week!  Stay tuned for further developments...*grin*)

March 9, 2007

Just a quick note to let you know that even though the Sourcegate Top Site voting button isn't showing up, the link works just fine, so you can still vote for Renee and I on that list.  It seems that the site was hacked a couple of weeks ago, and several of the graphics for the banners and voting buttons are still missing.  The links work, the image is all that is missing.  We wish the webmaster at Sourcegate the best of luck with repairs.  Thanks to each and every one of you who take the time to vote for us every day.  It keeps the site 'visible' and new readers are coming in every day.  I'll say it again, you are the GREATEST readers in the world!!!

March 6, 2007

Just wanted to let you know that Renee has a new story, "Interruptions of Inconvenience".  Like all of her stories, it's full of humor, action, adventure, and plenty of romance.  So check it out!  Work on "Devil's Brigade" is going nicely, and I plan to have it posted sometime next week, no later than the 17th.  (I'm hoping for mid-week...but you know how RW can be such a pain! *grin*)  As always, feedback is 'soul-food' for online authors!

March 2, 2007

Well, folks, SG-1 has come through again!  This just arrived!

Mission Report 01/03/07...SG-1 reports that all efforts to contain and disengage the wormhole that had created a time dilation between us and the Isis Awards has been successful. The Isis Awards are open and accepting nominations...PLEASE READ ALL RULES CAREFULLY!

Feb. 21, 2007

Happy Birthday, TCO!

A year ago, I opened this site, the very first website I have ever 'owned'. It wasn't easy, those first few days. I was pulling my hair out, trying to figure out how to get images to load. How to make what I could see in my head translate to the page, and then online. Wow...I've managed to learn a couple of things since then. I can get images to load. I've discovered the joy of having my own corner of the universe, a corner of the Stargate universe, where I have 'creative control', where I can take the journey with SG-1, and that there are others who, believe it or not, enjoy the journey as well. How cool is that?

The site has grown. Added a few new stories. (A few, she says! *snort* *giggle*) The site actually has 'fans'! 'Regulars' who drop by often to check in on Daniel and Casey, and the rest of SG-1, just to see how they're doing. I've made some amazing friends in this year. People who make me smile, and laugh, who pick me up when I'm feeling down, encourage me when I'm not sure I can take one more step. Good close friends that I know I can depend on, through thick or thin. Have had the pleasure and honor of working with Renee, and having her join my site.

And something that a year ago you couldn't have convinced me would ever happen...one of my stories won a Stargate Fan Award, and the Destiny's Child Series won TWO Blue Moon Awards. That any of the stories were even nominated (and several were!) was mind blowing enough...but to actually win...it's more than I can wrap my mind around!

None of this would have been possible if not for you, Dear, Gentle Readers. So to you I say a heartfelt "Thank you!", and lift my glass in a toast, as I mark the first 'birthday' of The Chosen One.
